Hello and welcome! I am Becca- I’m a Certified Integrative Health and Wellness Coach with a passion for empowering you to discover a balanced authentic healthy life. I’ve always had a deep love for prevention, health sciences and the desire to help others. In addition to creating Vitality Health & Wellness, I’ve been a practicing dental hygienist since 2003. Growing up in Minnesota I have a great appreciation for the outdoors and find the sunshine and lake to be my happy place. I love to cook colorful meals, take walks with my dog Penny and watch funny movies with my husband Phil. You will find I am a down to earth, energetic introvert who truly embraces the simplicity and balance of holistic health.
MY STORY-
As a healthcare provider I am constantly focusing on others health and needs. (I’m sure you can relate!) Therefore, I’ve had to figure out how to fuel my body and maintain my own health to have energy to serve others.
I know firsthand how stress can consume your life. Your body hurts, you “fake it to make it” all day and come home exhausted. It’s almost impossible to muster up the energy to be present for your family, make a healthy dinner let alone work out. Self-care goes out the window and the spiral continues. Then guilt kicks in when you know what you need to do but don’t have the “motivation” to do it.
Sound familiar? It wasn’t always this way.
How did I get here?
I’ve always been able to maintain my “health”, (I’ve struggled with an eating disorder, anxiety and body image issues most of my life), yet I was struggling with chronic fatigue and unwanted weight gain. I was eating healthy and pushing myself to working out, but it wasn’t working anymore. I thought, well am I at that age where my body was saying “I give up”! I was so frustrated with how I felt and even more discouraged hearing “Your lab results and thyroid test are negative… Ugh. I knew deep down I needed to find balance with my mind and body. I was burnt out.
My mission was to find the root cause (insert scientific nerd) and feel like myself again. Stress had overwhelmed my body for so long that it was manifesting in pain, anxiety and physical exhaustion. In order to reclaim my health, I had to figure out how to manage my stress and redefine what was important to me. I decided I needed to throw out my go-go-go pace and actually listen to my body and see where it would lead me.
How did I do it?
I slowly added simple and realistic habits to my daily routine. I was amazed how my body was changing and how energized I felt. My mind was at peace and my body felt balanced. Why had I wasted my energy like a hamster on a wheel beating myself up! At this point there was no turning back. I knew I needed to inspire other women to find balance and get back their vitality. I took the leap and enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I completed my Holistic Health and Wellness Coaching program and launched Vitality Health and Wellness.
My passion for learning continues, so that I can help you implement the most effective habits to see lifelong transformation. Each morning I wake up with gratitude that I am living my authentic life and have the opportunity to have a health coaching practice to support you in finding your life balance to regain vitality.
